The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Food Service Lead position, at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) located in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:
Provide culinary arts training to inmates, covering all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and sanitation. This includes personal hygiene, safety protocols, proper use of industrial kitchen equipment, comprehensive cleaning practices, and food serving methods that comply with the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation standards.

Knowledge of planning, growing, harvesting, preparing, and serving of food for consumption using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Is open to change and new information, rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information.
Uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Ability to obtain The ServSafe: Food Protection Manager Certification.

Minimum Qualifications

A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
