Food Service Helper - PRN, Variable - Norton Healthcare

Under moderate supervision, aids and assists in the preparation of food items for patients, staff, and visitors. Participates in a variety of duties throughout the Nutrition Services Department, including cleaning, gathering supplies, serving and other food service responsibilities. Follows food code in cleaning, preparing, holding and serving of food. Nutrition services provided through the major duties and responsibilities of this position are for the benefit of patients ranging in age from birth to 100+.

Ability to understand written and oral communications; no experience required. On-the-job training is provided; must be able to lift 50 pounds unaided; and be able to stand on feet during shift; have the ability to read, speak, and write; able to handle dishes and trays rapidly and efficiently and to work with various cleaning supplies; adaptable to work that involves short-cycle, repetitive duties under specific instructions; have interpersonal and communication skills in working with customers and coworkers.
