Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Food Service Director to lead our foodservice operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in managing large-scale foodservice accounts within national contract providers such as Aramark or Sodexo, with a preference for those with a background in a higher education sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Budget Management: Oversee and manage a $5M budget, ensuring financial objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of at least 100 direct/indirect reports, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are maintained across all dining facilities.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff, aligning with the university’s mission and goals.
• Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement and high-quality product offerings.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as university policies.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a Foodservice Director within a national contract foodservice account (e.g., Aramark, Sodexo), with a strong preference for experience in the higher education segment.
• Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets (minimum $5M) and achieve financial targets.
• Leadership Skills: Extensive experience in managing, developing, and inspiring a large team of at least 100 direct/indirect reports.
• Educational Background: A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
