SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DUTIES:
- Prepare a variety of food items and baked goods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
- Set up a workstation with the necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives, and operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and mixers.
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam foods while ensuring high-quality presentation and flavor.
- Properly store food accurately and safely while adhering to food safety regulations for handling, sanitation, and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and prepare the menu for the day.
- Supervise food temperature requirements and conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient operations and a smooth workflow.
- Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, and co-workers.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with local health department regulations and company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience as a cook or in a related role is required; previous experience in food service is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations is preferred.
- Experience operating specialized kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, grills, and food processors is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required by store needs.
- Must follow the required dress code as assigned
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently with limited supervision.
- Must be willing to cross-train for other tasks as needed.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English and follow recipes.
- Basic math and counting skills are required.
- Food Service Certificate or ability to acquire certification as needed.
