Pay Rate: $55,000 - $60,000
Shift: 1st
The HACCP & Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring food safety and product quality by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining food safety programs, including HACCP, pest control, SSOP, and food safety protocols. The role involves inspecting processes, training employees, and ensuring compliance with applicable food safety laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee food safety and monitoring programs to meet regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, SSOP, Pest Control).
- Monitor in-process and finished product testing and instrument calibration.
- Investigate, track, and resolve customer complaints and recalls.
- Develop, maintain, and audit standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality.
- Prepare for and lead efforts during third-party audits and inspections.
- Train employees on food safety, allergen control, food security, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth process operations.
- Review quality processes and implement corrective actions for any identified non-conformances.
- Assist in setting quality standards and ensuring production continuity and compliance.
- Ensure follow-up on audits and compliance-related issues with proper resolutions.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or high school diploma.
- 2+ years of experience in food safety or quality assurance/control within a food manufacturing or distribution environment.
- HACCP Certification.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
- Knowledgeable in HACCP, food safety plans, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in food safety or quality assurance/control.
- Knowledge of GMP, SQF programs, and SSOPs.
- Experience interacting with regulatory compliance agencies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 5-50 pounds.
- Must perform physical activities such as bending, pulling, and reaching.
