Food Prep - Porter at Samuels & Son Seafood C

Ippolito's is searching for candidates to join the team at our restaurant located at 13th and Dickenson in South Philadelphia. We need candidates who have experience with food prep and kitchen maintenance in a fast paced, multi-cultural work environment. The environment covers the spectrum from oven hot to ice freezer cold and requires the ability to be on your feet for long hours. Duties:

• Prepare food items for chefs such as chopping, cutting, peeling, breading, etc.
• Organize and stock shelves for efficient function within the kitchen
• Use basic cooking skills for boiling, cooling and other kitchen/food prep
• Read recipies to stock and prep cooking stations with any and all necessary ingredients and tools
• Keep the kitchen clean, sanitized and consistent with building standards (i.e.: Empty trash, clean floors, wipe down surfaces, etc. )

Requirements:

• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physical ability to move quickly and be on your feet for entire shift
• Follow verbal and written instructions quickly and thoroughly
• Communicate effectively with the entire kitchen staff, vendors, etc.
• Keen attention to detail

Preferred

• Fluent in reading, speaking and writing English
• Food prep/Porter experience in a fast paced environment

Must be available to work M-F 7:00am - 4:00pm. Overtime is available and will be required occasionally (during holidays and peak busy times).
