JOB TITLE: Food & Beverage Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Head of Food & Beverage
ROLE SUMMARY
The duties of a Food and Beverage Manager include managing daily operations, developing menus, maintaining quality standards, overseeing staff training, monitoring inventory and cost control, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
• Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service.
• Design exceptional menus, purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements
• Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all their concerns.
• Lead F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel
• Establish targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures.
• Provide a two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations.
• Report on management regarding sales results and productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Relevant degree or diploma
• +5 years professional knowledge and/or work experience
• 3 years Food and Beverage management position
• Vast knowledge of food and Safety regulations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
•A can-do, eager-to-learn attitude
•Able to formulate a unique vision and flawlessly execute the vision
• Creative and problem-solving skills – the ability to logically approach any situation and offer relevant suggestions for consideration
• Quick to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to change
• Self-starter and self-motivated – able to manage your own time effectively
• Strong team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, who enjoys working with people and has good interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
KEY SKILLS
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Asana and a good base of general computer knowledge.
• Front of House Excellence Lead by example in delivering top-notch customer service. Engage with guests to ensure a memorable experience and stay attuned to industry trends to continually enhance our offerings.
• Business Ownership Mindset Operate the business with the same dedication and initiative as if it were your own. Drive the team to achieve business objectives and maintain a high standard of excellence.
• Staff Management Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
• Back of House Expertise Manage kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and health regulations.
• Sales Reporting & Financial Management Monitor and report sales to senior management. Track costs and Gross Profit (GP%) to maintain a sustainable business model, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
• Supplier & Business Development Source new business opportunities and cultivate strong relationships with suppliers. Explore wholesale avenues and secure partnerships that contribute to the company's growth.
• Specialty Coffee Experience A strong advantage for candidates with experience in specialty coffee, whether from a café, roastery, or coffee business.
• Health & Safety Compliance Ensure all operations adhere to food safety and health regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both staff and customers.
• Financial, budgeting and inventory skills
• Ability to "lead", influence, and guide other individuals and teams.
• Ability to manage plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of restaurants, bars, cafeterias and other relevant businesses.
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with staff, vendors and customers.
• Ability to work under pressure; multi-task and organizational skills.

REMUNERATION
Salary is dependent on experience. This is a full-time, permanent position based at a Neighbourgood location in San Francisco, managing various locations as a whole
TRAINING / HUMAN RESOURCES

?In absence of the Community Manager, to ensure that all departmental staff report to work at the correct time, in a properly laundered and maintained uniform, professional appearance and attitude.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
?To ensure that all guests always receive the best possible standard of service.
?To ensure that all guest complaints / compliments received are dealt with in the correct professional manner and sent to the Housekeeping Supervisor, in a timely fashion and that these are all recorded and any actions to be followed up are completed and files updated.
HEALTH & SAFETY
?To safeguard all company materials, equipment, goods, and assets.
? To be totally security conscious at all times and ensure that effective procedures are in operation for bomb scares, etc.
? Report any suspicious activities to security.
? To ensure maximum security in all areas under your control.
? To ensure that all areas in your department are always clean and tidy, including guest bathrooms.
? Follow the company’s Personal and Hygiene grooming standards.
? You must be aware of emergency procedures.
? To report all accidents and near misses to your manager or Human Resources Department.
? Follow all health and safety company policies.
