The Virginia Beach Field House is Virginia's premier indoor sports facility. With over 175,000 square feet, we offer leagues, camps, clinics, and tournaments for youth and adults in soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, arena (indoor) baseball and softball, field hockey, lacrosse, dodge ball, sand volleyball, sand flag football, sand soccer and other social sports. We also host birthday and team parties, corporate events, and other organized activities. The Virginia Beach Field House has 6 turf fields, 8 regulation volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 8 sand volleyball courts, 2 sand fields, multiple party rooms, an arcade, and an indoor Fun Zone. Guests are encouraged to visit our fully stocked food court and lounge. In addition, we proudly carry several beers on tap and by the bottle for those patrons over 21 years of age who enjoy adult beverages. We have full locker rooms with day lockers and showers. For entertainment we have over 40 flat screen TV's throughout the building, and four 110' giant screen TV's in our lounge. For the best indoor sports - TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!
The Virginia Beach Field House is currently looking for a Food & Beverage Cashier. The Cashier is responsible for providing outstanding guest service, receiving and processing payments, and serving food and beverage items in a timely manner. In addition, the Food & Beverage Cashier is responsible for engaging with guests behind the customer service counter, as well as beyond the service counter. They will also assist the kitchen team members, as needed, to ensure quick and efficient ticket times. This part-time position reports to the the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Operate cash register and Point of Sale (POS) System
•Engage with members and guests to include greeting customers, and providing friendly and professional service
•Provide excellent guest service
•Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond quickly to requests
•Build rapport with members and guests
•Upsell food and beverage items
•Actively produce new ideas for business success and efficiency
•Serve food and beverage items in a timely manner
•Open and close the Front of the House (FOH)
•Clean and maintain the Front of the House
•Clean and maintain the Concession area
•Organize, stock, and control inventory
•Assist the Back of the House (BOH) team members as needed
•Constantly circulate around the dining area to maintain cleanliness and interact with the guests
•Communicate with managers regarding FOH issues
•Possess strong guest service skills
•Able to multi-task
•Able work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
•Able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift (8 or more hours)
•Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Food & Beverage Supervisor, District Food & Beverage Director and/or the General Manager

Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to make change in US currency.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Upon hire and training, the individual must be able to successfully utilize the facility Point of Sale software (i.e. - Micros, Clover, etc.) and Timeclock software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:
•Food Handlers Certification (within 60 days of employment)
Age Requirements: Due to hours of operation, the individual must be at least 16 years of age; 18 years of age if the facility sells alcoholic beverages.
