Key Payroll Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Accountant Admin Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all payroll-related activities, ensuring compliance with multi-state tax laws, and maintaining accurate payroll records. You will work closely with the Solutions team and HR department to:
- Process Bi-Weekly Payroll for household employers and internal employees across multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Submit Payroll Transactions related to banking, taxes, deductions, and garnishments.
- Maintain Payroll Data by entering, updating, and managing employee information in the payroll system.
- Manage Timekeeping System: Regularly maintain and improve the time tracking system to ensure smooth payroll processing.
- Prepare Payroll Reports and provide them to relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Ensure Tax Compliance: Process tax filings and payments, including state, federal, and local tax reports and W-2/1099 distribution.
- Stay Updated on Payroll Laws: Monitor changes in payroll regulations and adjust systems and processes as needed to comply with new laws.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date payroll records.
- Supervise the Administrative Assistant, providing coaching, performance management, and support.
- Month end financials: preparing and providing financial statements to Exec and Senior Leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of payroll accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and other payroll software systems.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
- Detail-oriented and committed to confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teams and stakeholders.
- A problem-solving mindset with a focus on system enhancements and process improvements.
