GENERAL SUMMARY
The Floor Tech is responsible for the performance of general floor care and housekeeping duties in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and established organizational policies and procedures for providing a safe environment. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans assigned area(s) on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Uses proper cleaning techniques and procedures to prevent the spread of infections and disease.
- Displays knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their use.
- Handles waste disposal from assigned area and transport to appropriate disposal area.
- Replenishes paper supplies and hand soap in bathrooms.
- Uses and maintains floor care equipment and machines as designated by floor care program.
- Performs routine and soiled spots cleaning in carpeting.
- Completes interior and/or exterior cleaning of windows as assigned.
- Keeps workstation and equipment neat and clean.
- Maintains an adequate amount of cleaning supplies and paper products in housekeeping closet and on cart.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Ensures adherence to company policy, standards of operation, safety and sanitation guidelines and employee handbook.
- Attends meetings and training in-services as required.
- Responsible for completing and maintaining accurate checklists and other paperwork requirements.
- Maintains a courteous, professional relationship with all organizational staff, patients, and families, and guests.
- Recognizes confidential matters and adheres to patient privacy requirements of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by not divulging confidential information or material to anyone not authorized to receive such information.
- Advises the Housekeeping Supervisor of any potential problems.
- Notifies maintenance and/or supervisor of any work requisitions needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Required Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- At time of hire, a record of completion for all education, licenses, training and/or certifications is required.
- Experience in operating commercial equipment (e.g., power equipment, floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet / dry vacuum, power vacuum, push sweeper and more) required.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- Six months of warehouse/ supply chain experience preferred.
- Health care work experience preferred.
- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates the principles of cleaning, disinfection, and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Excellent time management skills to complete work in a timely manner, able to shift priorities, able to work independently, able to work in a team setting and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrates ability work to effectively within role, department, and organization.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player who takes initiative.
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse individuals, team members, various levels of management, internal and external customers.
- Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Role in Children’s Pavilion: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions. Often exposed to hazardous situations and conditions.
