We are seeking to hire a diligent and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our environmental services team and ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff.
Position Overview:
As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and restoration of various floor surfaces throughout the facility. You will work closely with the environmental services team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety within our center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and special floor care, including cleaning, buffing, stripping, and waxing various floor surfaces (tile, carpet, vinyl, etc.).
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment, such as buffers, extractors, and vacuums, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, responding to specific cleaning requests and needs.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management of any shortages.
- Follow established safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of floors and common areas to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the environmental services team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Floor Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of various floor care techniques and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively.
- Good communication skills and a respectful attitude toward residents and their families.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and moving equipment and materials.
