Responsibilities
The Overnight Floor Care Worker is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our residents through providing excellence and innovation in aging services while ensure that the housekeeping staff provides a clean and healthy environment for the residents.
Overnight Floor Care Worker essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Make routine patrols of the entire building and grounds, observing, documenting and reporting on unusual activities.
- Investigation of incidents of unusual circumstances reported by employees, visitors or residents, and documents them appropriately.
- Responds to fire alarms and other emergencies in an efficient manner. Effectively communicates during these emergencies, and has the ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Checks in with the charge nurse on duty in both nursing and personal care.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks (painting, minor repairs, systems maintenance) as needed for the comfort and safety of residents, visitors and employees.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Maintain all applicable logs as directed.
- Flexible to work various hours as necessary, to include weekends and holidays.
- Ability to set-up and break down tables, chairs, etc. in common areas for resident and employee functions as necessary.
- Carries out all duties in a courteous, helpful and professional manner at all times when dealing with residents, employees and visitors.
- Extracts carpets within the facility as per the schedule implemented by the housekeeping supervisor
- Extracts carpets on an as needed basis for apartment renovations.
- Responds to work order request submitted by residents for carpet cleaning
- Strips and waxes all hard floor surfaces as implemented by the housekeeping supervisor
- Spray buff all hard floor surfaces as per the schedule implemented by the housekeeping supervisor
- Routine cleaning of all hard floor surfaces with designated equipment.
- Shower scrub all tubs room floors on a schedule designated by the housekeeping supervisor.
- Spot cleaning of carpets on an as needed basis.
- Responds to all water overflow emergencies and will assist with the extraction of the water.
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
- Completes all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment information.
- Will assist other Maintenance & Engineering personnel, when necessary, in the completion of various projects or repairs.
- Assists in maintaining proper levels of material/supplies of the campus to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.
- Performs additional duties requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Facilities Operations Director in order to ensure the effective and efficient operation within the community.
- Maintains work areas and storage rooms in a neat and orderly manner.
- Capable of following oral instructions.
- Capable of following written instructions.
- Maintains all janitorial equipment used.
- Demonstrates ability to observe infection control procedures.
- Willing to accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Assumes accountability for data contained in the coworkers handbook.
- Able to work holiday’s weekends as needed.
- Capable of communicating, either in person or on the phone with elderly persons.
- Power sprays all exterior patio surfaces on a as needed basis
- Cleans a newly renovated apartment and also a deep cleaning of the nursing rooms
- Empty the dirty linen carts out of nursing
- Assist with the general maintenances of grounds and buildings as needed
- Assist the maintenance department with scheduled special events.
- Performs duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances
Qualifications
Related Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in floor care
Education or Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
