The Flight Follower supports flight crews for aircraft/pilot services, travel, reports, and country clearances and includes a variety of administrative matters; maintaining aviation, financial, or other records; and verifying reports for accuracy and completeness. Duties also include coordinating and tracking flight crew services through completion. The Flight Follower is under the general supervision of the Flight Follower Lead and is a direct report to the Office Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Monitor flights in progress, upon departure and en route until arrived at the destination
+ Track and report aircraft flight status
+ Coordinate country clearances and military ramp clearances for aircraft and crew members
+ Assist crew members with weather and other situations
+ Coordinate and schedule aviation mission requests for numerous aircraft
+ Provide daily flight itineraries using a government-approved system
+ Coordinates OCONUS travel and schedules travel accommodations for aircraft and crew
+ Process mission reports for chargeback
+ Operate and Communicate with aircraft crew members using a variety of different communication devices such as satellite phones, HF radio, and switchboards, providing ETD, ETA, and other flight information throughout flight event
+ Provide data analysis for numerous aviation functions
+ Verifies the accuracy of vendor invoices for aviation services rendered
+ Conduct presentations as needed to brief command center operations overview
+ Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours including weekends and holidays, standard operating hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
+ The incumbent performs other job-related tasks, as assigned, and required duties/tasks included in the employee's performance evaluation elements are essential to that employee's position within the job classification
Basic Qualifications:
+ Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 2 years experience in aviation communications, customer service, and/or call center communications (required)
+ Aviation scheduling experience is preferred
+ Proficiency with PC menu-driven applications, internet/intranet protocol, e-mail communications, and data compilation/entry and report generation is required
+ Previous travel coordination experience is preferred
+ Proficient in MS Office; i.e. Excel and Word desired
+ Must be able to perform various assignments while simultaneously working in a demanding and fast-paced environment. This includes coordinating normal activities while facilitating the communication and administrative requirements associated with aircraft and crew needs and emergencies. Multitasking experience and skills are essential
+ Bilingual, English/Spanish is desired
The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
Physical Requirements: Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. At times, one must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to communicate effectively
