About the Job
Our client is a professional landscape and snow removal company that has been servicing the Cleveland OH market for over 20 years. They have a fully outfitted mechanic shop on site and are looking for a Mechanic to maintain and repair the fleet of trucks, equipment and trailers.
They will assist ownership with planning, organizing, scheduling, purchasing and budgeting as it affects the company's equipment & vehicles.
They will be responsible for implementing a viable preventative maintenance program with proper documentation.
This position must communicate daily with Company President and/or Account Manager on the status of all equipment in the shop for repairs and/or service.
This position is responsible to make sure that all equipment repairs and parts expenses are within budget.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrate skill and ability to complete most repairs associated with the vehicles and equipment used at the company
- Effectively use Arc & MiG welders and torches in both equipment repairs and fabrication.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured by our insurance company.
- Good physical shape and mental health is required as well as the strength and endurance to perform work assigned.
- Need to be able to safely load and unload trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- The ability to safely operate most equipment which is used at the company.
- Need to have own tools and tool box.
Personnel Supervised: Any personnel assigned to assist in mechanic shop.
Meetings Attended:
- Weekly meeting with Company President and/or Account Manager.
- Company training meetings as needed.
- Other meetings as deemed necessary by Company President.
Primary Responsibilities
- Complete 90-day introductory period.

- Prioritize all service & repairs in order for equipment to operate efficiently and safely when it is needed in the field.
- Manage the preventative schedule so that problems can be detected and dealt within the shop rather than on job sites.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and parts used.
- Keep a reasonable inventory of common parts needed for repairs as approved by Company President.
- Assist in the equipment budgeting and purchasing process to meet budget.
- Train equipment operators on safe and proper procedures to use and care for equipment.
- Keep Mechanic shop in a constant state of readiness, tidy and clean, and everything kept in its place at the end of each shift.
- Work benches cleaned off daily and shop swept at end of week.
- Communicate equipment repair status of all equipment in Mechanic Shop with Company President and/or Account Manager at the end of each shift.
- Research parts and part numbers needed for repairs and legibly write up purchase orders.
- Be familiar with company policies and follow them.
- Must be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week during snow removal operations to make any necessary equipment repairs in support of the snow removal crews. If called in after hours you will be paid time and one half for all time worked regardless of how many hours you have worked up from the time you leave your home. In addition if after hours repair takes less than 4 hours you will be paid a minimum of 4 hours of overtime pay.
- Supervise maintenance crews to make sure they are performing routine weekly servicing of equipment.
- Assist with deliveries of materials and/or supplies.
- Maintain a desire to learn & grow professionally as well as personally.
- Maintain a professional image and positive attitude both internally and externally when representing the Company.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as they are assigned to you to help the good of the Company.
Pay Range: Based on experience. Starting at $ 25.00/hour.

Work schedule: (40 hrs. per week)
- 40 hours per week, overtime only if approved by Company President ahead of time.
- Lunch: ½ hour (not paid).
- In-Season Schedule: 7 am – 3:30 pm
- Off-Season Schedule: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
- On call during winter.
