Position Summary:
Our client in the Food industry is looking for a Fleet Safety Manager. The Fleet Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive fleet safety programs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet vehicles. This position demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership abilities, a thorough understanding of transportation safety regulations, and a track record of successfully executing safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., safety management, transportation management) or experience in the field.
- Proven experience in fleet safety management, preferably in [Food Industry].
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Certification in fleet safety management (e.g., Certified Director of Safety, Certified Safety Professional) is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development:
- Design, implement, and manage a robust fleet safety program aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develop policies, procedures, and training materials fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to fleet safety, ensuring organizational compliance.
- Conduct regular audits to evaluate compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Driver Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver effective driver training programs aimed at enhancing driver skills and promoting safe driving behaviors.
- Conduct ongoing driver education sessions and provide performance feedback.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and corrective measures taken.
Vehicle Maintenance Oversight:
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure fleet vehicles are properly maintained and comply with safety standards.
- Monitor vehicle inspection processes and implement necessary improvements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in fleet safety performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports on safety metrics and key performance indicators.
Communication and Training:
- Communicate safety policies and procedures to all relevant stakeholders, ensuring comprehension and compliance.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for drivers and other pertinent personnel.
