Our client is looking for a fleet mechanic who can maintain and repair the company's vehicles and machinery, perform routine maintenance, diagnose and fix issues, ensure vehicles meet safety regulations, and keep detailed records of repairs. Applicant should have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of vehicle systems and tools are required.

Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a fleet mechanic who can maintain and repair the company's vehicles and machinery, perform routine maintenance, diagnose and fix issues, ensure vehicles meet safety regulations, and keep detailed records of repairs. Applicant should have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of vehicle systems and tools are required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must review and address all driver vehicle inspection reports daily
- Keep up with inspections/service events when directed by management
- Basic housekeeping duties
- Maintain documents/ record of completed tasks
- Respond to vehicle emergencies (may require travel)
- Must be able to move equipment between the plant and shop as required
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance when instructed (EX: brake inspection)
Required Skills:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be skilled in performing preventive maintenance to keep fleet vehicles operating safely and efficiently
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing faulty equipment
- Capable to work on diesel engine maintenance
- Must be able to coordinate and handle all truck-tractor maintenance and repairs, including body, engine, painting, tires, axles, suspensions, braking, drivetrain, and lubrication
- Maintenance and repair of cargo tank and flatbed trailer
- Familiar with cargo tank test/inspection requirements (Found in CFR 180 Subpart E)
- Must have a demonstrated understanding of mandated test/inspection for 49 CFR 180 Subpart E
- Must have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), needs X endorsement to move tractors/trailers between the garage and the facility
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit for extended periods
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions for extended periods
