Fleet Mechanic and Garage Manager - Ace Plumbing & Rooter

Ace Plumbing and Rooter, one of San Francisco's top-rated and most-trusted plumbing solutions providers, is hiring a full-time Fleet Mechanic and Garage Manager to service and maintain a plumbing fleet of 30+ gas and diesel trucks, in addition to a motorized equipment inventory that includes drain snakes, hydro jet machines, and air compressors.

ABOUT THIS TRADE JOB

This full-time position works Weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with occasional weekends or evening shifts as needed. Our shop is located in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood with secure parking on-site.

Your Typical Day:

You and your assistant/future assistant will ensure all the trucks are fueled and ready for the day, including oil, tire pressure, and light bulbs (headlights, tail lights, brake lights). You will rotate a schedule to perform routine maintenance on each vehicle as needed, including oil changes, brakes, transmission work, belt replacement, spark plugs and batteries. When it's time to replace engines, you'll do that too.

You will also service our plumbing and drain cleaning specialty equipment – we'll help train you on any new or unfamiliar equipment. When needed, you will attend training sessions given by the manufacturers. As shop manager, you will be responsible to maintain our parts inventory and schedule deliveries to replenish our on-site fuel tanks. This includes supervision of inventory management software and standard accounting practices.

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of gas and diesel truck repair experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to/from the ACE office
