Responsibilities:

• Oversee the company's vehicle fleet operations, ensuring timely maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
• Handle the procurement, leasing, and disposal of fleet vehicles, keeping accurate records of all transactions.
• Develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring that expenses related to maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance remain within approved limits.
• Track and enhance fleet utilization, vehicle life cycles, and overall cost efficiency.
• Establish and enforce policies for fleet usage, maintenance, and operational best practices.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through vehicle optimization, maintenance schedules, and operational improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and EPA standards.
• Develop and oversee safety programs and training for drivers, ensuring they adhere to both company policies and legal requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of vehicles to ensure they are operating safely and legally.
• Monitor and evaluate driver performance, focusing on safety adherence, fuel efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
• Implement a system to track and manage driver behavior (e.g., speeding, harsh braking) and provide corrective feedback when necessary.
• Investigate and resolve safety incidents, accidents, or compliance violations, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.
• Provide continuous training and development for drivers to enhance safety awareness, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices.
• Ensure all drivers and vehicles comply with DOT regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualifications, inspections, and maintenance records.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for driver certifications, vehicle inspections, maintenance logs, and fuel usage.
• Stay informed on industry trends, technological advances, and regulatory changes affecting fleet management and safety.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of fleet management experience
• Minimum of 2 years of DOT and safety compliance experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or related field, preferred but not required
• Preferred certifications include Automotive Fleet Manager, Fleet Safety Certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, Confined Space, CAFM
