INCENTIVE FOR NEW EMPLOYEES:
Sign on Bonus - $2,000
40 hours of sick leave for immediate use
FUTURE INCENTIVES:
Employees employed as of July 1, 2024, will receive a $2,000 lump sum.
Employees employed as of July 1, 2025, will receive a $2,000 lump sum.

The City of Stockton is recruiting for the role of Fleet Manager. This position will oversee a fleet of 1000+/- vehicles and equipment and 31 direct reports. It is a very rewarding position that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to grow, and effect change within the Fleet Section of the Public Works Department.
The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge and experience, and demonstrate a work history that reflects strong leadership skills and sound judgment in evaluating and monitoring the professional and technical aspects of operating and maintaining a large fleet. The ideal candidate will also be able to effectively and efficiently communicate issues/situations to others while promoting a standard of excellence throughout the operation.
The Fleet Manager will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 6:00am to 3:30pm Mondays through Thursdays; 6:00am to 2:30 Fridays, with alternating Fridays off. May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends as needed.
Incumbents in this position are excluded from the Civil Service system and are in a "for-cause" employment status represented by the Mid-Management/Supervisory bargaining unit.Only those applicants who best fit the needs of the City will be referred to the hiring department. Prior to appointment, eligible candidates will be required to submit to and successfully pass a background investigation, which will include fingerprinting.
