About the Job
Marcum Search is assisting our client in their search for a Fleet Manager in Bridgehampton, Long Island, NY. The Fleet Manager MUST have mechanical ability. Will oversee a staff of approximately 10 employees and manage a fleet which consists of over 70 vehicles (gas and diesel, mowers, plows and tractors) and numerous pieces of small equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop a program and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile and all stationary equipment and all vehicles, mowers, blowers, plows, etc. Maintain maintenance and repair logs and records
· Manage a budget and follow accounting protocols for invoices and submitting expenses.
· Assist in preparation of capital and operating budgets
· Advise management of required major repairs or replacements to mobile and stationary equipment.
· Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to all safety regulations.
· Diagnostics, troubleshooting, disassembling equipment, engines, etc. for excessive wear.
· Maintain inventory control over equipment and supplies.
· Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.
· Assist in risk management activities.
· Review existing Fleet software program. Present plan for completing any necessary data entry and make sure the system is operating and being used. Ability to generate reports and see the annual costs associated with a specific vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Sound mechanical knowledge.
· Knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment.
· Knowledge of when to contact other tradespersons or professionals to complete a task or repair.
· Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
· Knowledge of record keeping systems.
Salary: $90K to $100K (flexible) + bonus
Hours: 7am-4pm
