• Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I: This is the entry-level class in the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn to perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work, while learning City policies and procedures.


• Fleet Maintenance Mechanic II: This is the journey-level classification in the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I-level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative.
