Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Wage: $25-$35 per hour

Full time position: 40-50 hour per week

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Reports to Lead Mechanic

PSC Construction is seeking a full-time Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to perform regular services and light repairs on diesel pickup trucks, semi-trucks, and trailers. The ability to service heavy equipment is a plus. This position is hybrid, 75% shop work, and 25% field maintenance.

Essential Functions:

• Capability to utilize a computer for spreadsheets, database software, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to calculate figures, practical problem solving, and write reports
• Capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds
• Ability to perform physical labor (i.e., strenuous walking, and lifting catch basin grates/manhole covers, hauling equipment)
• Physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing excavations, trenches, structures, and other disturbed areas
• Work in wet or humid environments, outdoor and indoor conditions
• Work near moving mechanical parts

Job Description:

• Regularly service diesel engines including semis and pick-up trucks

• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes

• Order parts, stock fluids, and other materials

• Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans with estimated cost

• Maintain fleet vehicle reports

• Inspect all vehicles and equipment on a weekly basis

• Maintain service program and update thoroughly

Requirements: Mandatory background and drug Screening

• Must have 3 years verifiable experience in heavy duty trucking and automotive industry
• Satisfactory MVR
• Ability to pass post-offer physical
• Must bring your own hand tools
• Truck and equipment safety
• Good communication and customer relation skills
