Global Rental, a division of Altec, is looking for a subject matter expert responsible for organizing, monitoring, and supervising equipment repairs within the fleet; to convey a variety of technical related tasks relative to chassis maintenance and repair; and to maintain relationships with all chassis manufacturers represented in the Global Rental fleet.
This position may be located in Birmingham (preferred) or other major Altec locations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, supervise, and participate in all chassis related maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures
- Develop/Maintain relationships with chassis suppliers to assist in the timely completion of repairs, assist in the communication/coordination of units getting back to rental customers.
- Determine the most effective, efficient means to solve issues regarding technical problems that interface with the Altec produced products and the chassis OEM carriers.
- Liaison to Altec Repair Central; managing chassis repairs and breakdowns; approval for agreed-upon invoice limits.
- Review all chassis related invoices from OEM national accounts; identify any potential warranty claims; identify any damages that might have occurred while on rent; initiate damage recovery claim process.
- Ensure all negotiated pricing standards are followed.
- Maintain consistent communication with Global Account Managers to foster positive relationships between vendors and customers.
- All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management Degree) or
- Five years of supervisory experience at a manufacturing or service operation required, or
- Ten years’ experience at Altec in the manufacturing or service environment
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally in person and on the phone with customers promoting positive company image using strong communication/ presentation skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and extremely detail oriented
- Demonstrated experience of providing high level customer support
- Microsoft Office suite experience preferred, Advance skills in Excel & Word required.
- Must handle stress and deadlines well
- Current valid Driver’s license
- Travel up to 15%
