We are seeking Cooks to prepare and direct the preparation of food to be served while complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares hot and cold foods by observing proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Correctly prepares all food served following company standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Cleans, sanitizes and maintains work areas including equipment, utensils, tools, dishes and silverware.
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
- Performs kitchen duties including slicing, chopping, frying, and grilling.
- Responsible for mixing ingredients for green salads, fruit salads, vegetable salads and pasta salads.
- Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item.
- Reports necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to General Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Experience and requirements:
- 6 months of customer service or guest service experience preferred.
- Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive.
- Must be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills.
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
