Fixed Plant Maintenance - Industrial Mechanic (or) Repair Job Summary
Highly skilled mechanic who safely performs components of diagnostic, maintenance, installation, replacement and repair of fixed plant operational equipment and related systems.
Fixed Plant Maintenance - Industrial Mechanic (or) Repair Responsibilities
- Perform system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying systems pump, pit dewatering, hydraulic systems, etc.
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, seals for leakage,oil levels and lubrication systems
- Preform the removal, repair and installation of piping and pump components, such as: valves, expansion joints and check valves.
- Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed
- Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
- Train and mentor other employees
- Perform advanced welding and fabrication
- May operate mobile equipment such as: Forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks
- Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required
- Perform other duties as required

Skilled Mechanic who,under supervision, safely performs diagnostic, maintenance, installation and repair of fixed plant operational equipment and related systems.
Fixed Plant Maintenance - Industrial Mechanic (or) Repair Responsibilties
- Assists with and performs component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems,mobile conveying,pump,pit,dewatering,hydraulic systems, etc.
- Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, seals for leakage, oil levels and lubrication systems
- Perform the removal, repair and installation of piping/pump components, such as: valves,expansion joints and check valves.
- Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections
- May perform welding and fabrication
- May operate mobile equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks
- Performs housekeeping duties
- Performs other duties as required
Fixed Plant Maintenance - Industrial Mechanic (or) Repair Position Requirements
- Two (2) years' experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
- FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.

- High School diploma or GED

- One (1) year of experience in fixed plant operational mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
