Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator with the daily operations of the Fitness and Wellness Center (FWC) including: enforcing policies and procedures; executing the Center’s risk management plan; monitoring the Center; filing and maintaining user information; opening and closing the facility; cleaning and daily maintenance of equipment. FWC assistant will also be responsible to provide individual and group guidance with regard to FWC orientations and equipment use. Collaborate with FWC team on marketing, special events, seasonal newsletter, webpage and other campus wide initiatives. Ability to cover other shifts as needed. Other duties as assigned. Schedule will vary by semester. Ability to work a flexible schedule year round.
Level II FWC Specialists will be considered a “key holder” for the Fitness and Wellness Center.
Due to the need of interaction with students, employees and college community, this position requires in person presence.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Skills/Training: Current CPR/AED certification preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Proficiencies: Excellent customer service and organizational skills required
Scheduling Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule that will change each semester
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs in order to pick up weights and/or other fitness related equipment.
