About the Job
Position Summary: The first cook is directly responsible for overseeing the preparation of all food and beverage items and supervising the production staff in the absence of the production supervisor. In addition, this position is responsible for the preparation and presentation of attractive, nutritious meals for patient/resident meals, the cafeteria, and special functions, as well as, the maintenance of sanitary conditions in the production area. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have at least 5 years of experience in high-volume production and be certified in sanitation. A degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent is preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and take verbal direction. Must be flexible in scheduling and available for weekend rotation.
