Summary:
The Emergency Services Specialist is a multi-disciplinary role responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and emergency preparedness of events hosted at the Firebird Motorsports Park (FMP). This position combines expertise in emergency medical services, advanced life support, and firefighting to deliver comprehensive emergency response and safety enforcement. The Specialist is a key team member in protecting attendees, staff, and assets during events through proactive readiness, professional emergency care, and collaboration with event organizers.
Responsibilities:
Emergency Medical Services (EMS):
• Perform vehicle and equipment checks to ensure operational readiness for each event.
• Provide patient care documentation and maintain accurate records as required.
• Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, including CPR, first aid, and authorized treatments under the direction of On-Line and Off-Line Medical Direction.
• Maintain and care for medical equipment and supplies to ensure functionality during events.
Firefighting and Safety:
• Conduct routine checks of firefighting vehicles, tools, and supplies to ensure availability and performance.
• Provide firefighting and spill response services using various suppression systems, agents, and tools.
• Utilize hydraulic, battery-operated, and manual rescue tools to respond to on-site incidents effectively.
• Conduct fire safety training and educate staff on evacuation procedures.
Event Safety Enforcement:
• Collaborate with event promoters and sanctioning bodies to enforce rules and regulations established by Firebird Motorsports Park.
• Monitor compliance with safety guidelines to minimize risk and ensure public safety.
• Assist in pre-event risk assessments and recommend strategies for improving on-site emergency preparedness.
• Act as a liaison with local emergency services when additional support is required.

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work will primarily be performed in an office environment.
• Work will be performed both inside and outside on a regular basis, in most weather conditions.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.
• Occasional local day travel, Local travel to managed businesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, regular handling of heavy equipment and emergency medical supplies.
Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required for events.
• Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
• Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
• A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
• Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and/or Certified Emergency Paramedic (CEP).
• Certified firefighter training or equivalent experience in fire safety operations.
• Strong understanding of medical and fire equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with event staff, promoters, and local authorities.
• Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities.
• Proficient in MS office and other relevant workplace tools.
