About the Job
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Fire Support Command and Control Systems Test Engineer to support our Fort Sill, Oklahoma location.
Duties include but are not limited to the setup and configuration of AFATDS, JADOCS and other tactical fire support systems organic to an Army/USMC organization. The building of AFATDS databases and the establishment of communications between AFATDS and other tactical fire support systems. Test, analyze, evaluate and document AFATDS software behavior and its interfaces with other Fire Support systems. Recommend tactical procedure adjustments (workarounds) that will allow minor software issues to be overcome until they are corrected. Review and evaluate technical manuals and bulletins for accuracy, readability, and completeness. Analyze system requirements documents and develop test cases that illuminate the functionality of those requirements in the system's software. Develop training materials to familiarize operators with the implementation of new system requirements. Create problem reports and technical letters for the reporting of software issues.
Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of US Army and/or Marine Corps Fire Support doctrine.
- Working knowledge of fire support and/or fire direction procedures.
- Working knowledge of MS Windows Office Applications.
- Travel: 50 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or 18 years of fires experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- At least 8 years of fires experience
Desired Skills:
- 12+ years operational experience in fire support and fire direction.
- Familiarity with all types of automated Command and Control systems.
- Proficient in the Fire Support systems digital mission chain.
- Working knowledge of all MS Office Suite Applications.
- Have a strong background in testing tactical Command and Control systems, specifically Fire Support Systems.
- Have a strong background in Joint Fire Support Systems and procedures.
- Have a strong background in Fire Direction operations.
- Be able to translate systems requirements into test cases containing detailed step-by-step procedures that validate system processing is performing in accordance with those requirements.
- Have experience in the development and authoring of operational test plans and reports.
- Be able to perform hardware and software assembly, setup, configuration, and network connectivity support for testing tactical Command and Control systems.
- Be capable of troubleshooting and analyzing reported issues.
- Be capable of translating system issues into a concise and comprehensive written Test Incident Report (TIR).
- Be familiar with automated test tools that analyze and capture transmitted data. (DFSTS and ExCIS).
- Be able to Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
- Be able to investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering or technical personnel.
- Be capable of providing technical support and advice to other engineering groups.
- Be capable of Guiding and directing personnel on the set-up and performance of tests.
- Be capable of acting as a liaison with other agencies in establishing or modifying techniques and procedures for interoperability.
- Have a general technical knowledge of Application Security and Development Security Technical Implementation Guide.
- Have knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Have general technical understanding of Networking.
- Must be able to operate independently with little or no supervision.
- Have a good understanding of Joint Intelligence Systems and data exchange requirements for the targeting process.
