About the Job
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types natural gas, boilers, pressure vessels, steam valves, pumps, HVAC systems, plumbing and mechanical devices and equipment
*Perform inspections of fire protection equipment and relevant codes
*Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
*Responsible for retention and development of client relationships
*Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing
*Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
*Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups.
*Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Position Requirements:
*M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
*P. E. registration through testing is required
*Licensed Fire Protection Engineer
*Minimum of eight years of engineering experience
*Knowledge of mechanical systems and plumbing
*Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
*Must possess strong writing skills
*Public speaking experience a plus
Physical Requirements
*25% Travel
*Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site
*Ability to lift 40 lbs
*Ability to drive to site locations
