A firm I am partnered with is seeking a highly motivated Senior Fire Protection design Engineer with expertise in fire hazards analysis, and fire protection system design. You will interface across the organization between engineering design, construction forces, operations, and EH&S to support the fire protection system design.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering with fire protection engineering concentration preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in industrial facility design, construction, commissioning, and/or operations
- 5+ years of experience working as a fire protection engineer and familiar with nuclear, radiological, and/or other higher-hazard industrial facilities
- Possess a Professional Fire Protection Engineer License is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of new and existing non-reactor facility structural engineering systems and calculations, applications of engineering methods, and application of computer-aided engineering tools to solve operations-based engineering problem
Duties & Responsibilities: Perform a variety of fire protection duties associated with the planning, analysis, design, and construction of various fire protection sprinkler systems primarily for new construction and facility renovation projects.
- Generating fire protection life safety code analyses.
- Performing sprinkler system shop drawing plan reviews.
- Performing hydraulic and seismic bracing calculation reviews
Project types: Commercial buildings, K-12 schools, medical facilities, housing/mix-use projects, higher education campuses, military facilities, waterfront and upland utility design for wharves and piers, and lift station design for storm and sanitary sewer systems.
