- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of full-time firefighting experience (volunteer or paid on-call time considered), with at least two years in a Fire Inspector role.
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Officer I
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Instructor I
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Firefighter II
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Inspector II
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Airport Firefighter
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations Level
- CPR Certification
- National Incident Management System (NIMS): ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Associate of Science degree in Fire Science.
- High School Diploma /GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- EMT-B or Paramedic
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Driver Operator Pumper / Mobile Water Supply
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Driver Operator ARFF
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Inspector III
Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and conduct training programs for all functional areas of the Fire/Security Section.
- Maintain training reference files, directives, office instructions, lesson plans, training aids, and training records.
- Respond to emergencies, evaluate operational procedures, act as a safety officer, and assist with rescue, fire suppression, and overhaul when directed.
- Serve as a firefighter to supplement existing personnel when required.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including AR 420-1, DoDI 6055.06, DoD 6055.06-M, AR 525-27, DoDI 6055.06, 29 CFR 1910.120, 49 CFR Part 40, AR 190-45, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards (NFPA 1, NFPA 101, NFPA 5000, NFPA 10, NFPA 157), TM 3-34.30, DA PAM 525-27, and AR 40-3.
- Provide necessary documentation for legal and compliance purposes.
- Formal training on relevant Automated Information Systems (AIS) may be required.
- Oversee daily operations or specific tasks as directed by the Fire Captain.
- Conduct inspections following Fire Department SOPs and NFPA guidelines.
- Schedule and track weekly inspections, issue violation notices, and conduct follow-up inspections.
- Coordinate dormitory evacuation drills with site management.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection devices, systems, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and conduct training programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and ability to ensure compliance.
- Successful completion of drug screening and background checks.
- Federal Background Check clearance.
- Ability to perform physical activities, including heavy lifting, climbing, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Valid US Driver's License.
- US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
- Prior contingency or military experience is preferred.
This position requires a committed individual with extensive firefighting experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work under challenging conditions.
