The successful candidate will be knowledgeable on Department of Defense Instructions, manuals and pamphlets that impact FandES Programs; National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA); Army regulations; EXORDS; OPORDS; and policy letters
Leads others in a mission analysis of a higher headquarters' operations orders to distinguish between specified, implied and essential tasks, find the commander's intent and find other tasks in coordinating instructions
As a result of a mission analysis, candidate knows the necessary performance levels of funding of the Army Fire and Emergency Services (FandES) Training Program and tracks civilian training authorizations to ensure seats are assigned in a timely manner to prevent loss of training allocations
Previous experience working in FandES command-level positions at higher headquarters, major commands, and/or major subordinate commands is highly preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Analyze, review, assess, and make recommendations regarding DoD and Army Protection Program Policy as it relates to Fire and Emergency Management, the command functions, and those of its subordinate elements
- Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify fire and emergency response training needs based on projected processes, changes, and other factors
- Support strategy for ensuring equipment maintenance, intra-agency collaboration, and collaboration with local first responders to ensure effective response during emergency
- Analyze assessment results, prioritize vulnerabilities, and provide actionable recommendations for remediation, working closely with customers to develop and implement recommendations for remediation
- Monitor industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging threats in FandES and other protection areas to ensure protection policies are up-to-date, effective, and meet customer expectations
- Collaborate with analysts, functional specialists, subject matter experts, and project managers to produce protection-related projects and solutions
- Perform multiple customer support functions which may include planning, design, assessment, cost analysis, resource management, and quality management for projects
- Stays abreast on Department of Defense Instructions, manuals and pamphlets that impact FandES Programs; National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA); Army regulations; EXORDS; OPORDS; and policy letters when released or revised and provides information to leadership concerning potential impacts to Army FandES Training Program
- Travels when needed to support installation/base FandES assessments
Identifies and reports best practices and observations to the team lead, prepares slides, and conducts in-and-out briefings
- Collects and analyzes FandES data from various resources databases, consolidates the information into Microsoft Power BI or other equivalent tools, and advises leadership concerning trends or adverse impacts that affect the Army FandES Enterprise
- Consolidates data from taskers and provides leadership to prevent surpassing suspense dates
- Uploads files, provides updates, and manages permissions to the HQ AMC FandES SharePoint Site
QUALIFICATIONS U.S
Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance
Training management and Fire Services background International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Certifications: Fire Officer 3, Fire Instructor 3, and Fire Inspector 2
Previous experience working in FandES command-level positions at higher headquarters, major commands, and/or major subordinate commands is highly preferred
