Overview:
The Fire Alarm Specialist will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire alarm systems. The co-worker will have expertise in reading blueprints, following manufacturer's specifications, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes. Collaborates and interacts routinely with other Facilities Maintenance and Operations co-workers, Facilities Maintenance Leaders, and other departments as required at each hospital entity. Scope of responsibility includes all hospitals, clinics and other properties maintained by Facilities Maintenance Operations throughout Mercy Ministry.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years’ experience with installing, mainlining, and repairing fire alarm systems.
- Required Education: igh School Diploma or equivalent required. In lieu of diploma, 1 year of relevant experience will be considered.
- Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License for all Mercy locations.
- NICET II (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Other: Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and follow instructions. Verbal ability required to read and understand technical manuals.Ability to teach or conduct learning sessions as needed. Ability to make calculations for testing, installation, measurement, estimation and repair of equipment.Ability to prioritize work assignments, conceptualize, and formulate finished product.Form perception is required when measuring and installing parts and equipment.Requires knowledge and use of various computer software such as Outlook, and Mercy work order system.Ability to manage time and materials efficiently.Completes work assignments in a high-quality manner and the lowest cost to Mercy.
