Job Details
With a half dozen locations across Texas, they are continuing to grow and currently they are looking to add a Fire Alarm Designer in the Austin, TX area with fire alarm design and AutoCad experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on site surveys
- Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based from both site visits and architectural prints
- Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end
- Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors
- Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control
- Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications
- Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects
- Maintain project drawing files and records
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel as needed
