The Finishing Technician performs deburr, finishing, and cleaning in a job shop or high-volume applications. Processes components to meet print and or geometric tolerance requirements. Responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of production equipment needed for deburr, finishing, and cleaning operations, maintenance of proper documentation, and support of the manufacturing engineering function.

Under direct supervision of Manufacturing Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities are to:
+ Under close supervision, completes tasks as directed by SOPs, routers, prints, work instructions, and manufacturing schedules.
+ Under close supervision, operates production equipment needed for basic deburr, finishing, and cleaning operations such as sandpaper, scotch brite, pencil grinders, bead blasters, tumblers, and heat treat oven.
+ Performs packaging and other duties as required.
+ Performs in-process checks using measuring devices and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department lead person or supervisor.
+ Verifies conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
+ Adheres to dimensions and tolerances found on prints. May use prints and sketches to determine proper methods and processes when not specified on router or work instruction.
+ Reworks productions parts and performs emergency rework and/or modification of production parts as directed.
+ Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
+ Works on projects as part of a team, exchanging ideas and contributing skills that complement those of the other team members. Fulfills commitments to team members.
+ Recommends and implements process improvements with the support of management and the engineering department as required.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ 0-2 years Manufacturing experience preferred.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Position will use production equipment which may include hand tools and custom fixtures, presses, Bracker, punches, etching and stamping equipment and measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Ability to utilize a desktop computer with typical business programs installed.
