The Financial/Statements Accountant will ensure that all global financial information of the company is reported in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory agencies. Be the Finance subject matter expert for troubleshooting efforts for our global consolidation of financial results. This partner will help lead the Finance group towards designing, implementing and maintaining a Global Financials system. Partner with Finance and non-Finance partners globally in the development of new processes and programs. Oversee the work and effort of the student interns.
What you’ll do:
- Provide support in the implementation of financial reporting systems for new and existing business ventures to ensure that the proper controls and reporting capabilities are included. Provide expert advice to teams to ensure that these systems are incorporated properly to report results in compliance with statutory reporting standards as well as consolidated results in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Process owner of the general ledger. Ensure the system setup and accounting transactions are processed timely and accurately.
- Perform and improve processes to consolidate financial results for all legal entities and reporting units. Key performer of reporting global month-end financial results.
- Be an active participant of the Finance team. Share in the development of a culture that thrives on continuous improvement and the quality principles.
- Design and implement financial reports that provide accurate financial data in the appropriate level of detail to support management’s required reporting insuring that adequate internal controls are implemented within those systems. Expand the reporting capabilities of our entities outside of the US.
- Provide key influence for the year-end audit process in coordination with the external audit.
- Provide analytical support regarding total company results as reported in the financial reporting system. Review and analyze the financial statement process for improvement opportunities to ensure information and processes are efficient and accurate.
- Provide appropriate financial and operational measurement and analyses as required by various corporate leaders.
What you need to succeed:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting (ideally in general or cost Accounting)
- CPA certification or currently working toward CPA certification required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of personal computer hardware and software
- Problem solving ability and ability to synthesize data from several sources, then recommend and implement solutions and process improvements
- Ability to communicate complex systems, rules and ideas into clearly understood statements and policies
- Proactive leadership skills to implement financial reporting and systems improvements to address changing customer needs
- For positions that require any amount of travel: Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required
- Must have a reliable internet connection (minimum 10 mb download speed) at home for remote and hybrid position
