Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of financial services matters, including banking, securities, investment, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal strategies align with business objectives.
- Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate financial agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Advise on the legal aspects of financial transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate activities.
- Assess legal risks associated with financial transactions and business activities.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and provide guidance on risk management best practices.
- Collaborate with external counsel in litigation matters related to financial services.
- Assist in dispute resolution and litigation strategy, when necessary.
- Communicate complex legal concepts to clients and internal teams in a clear and understandable manner.
- Provide legal support to clients on financial matters and ensure excellent client service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on financial services (specific years depending on seniority level).
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, securities laws, and banking laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
