The Role
The Financial Reporting Manager will be a valued member and asset to our accounting and finance team, delivering on the excellence that Hughes Marino is known for. This position will be based in our beautiful downtown San Diego headquarters.
This role will primarily focus on forecasting, reconciliation of balance sheets, budgeting, monthly close, revenue recognition, variance analysis and booking journal entries.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years of corporate experience overseeing all financial functions under the direction of the CFO, such as auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, and project control.
- Experienced with gathering financial data, preparing reports, projections, and presentation decks based on financial analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience and high proficiency in variance analysis, revenue analysis, and feasibility analysis are a must.
- Proficient in preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports in a timely and accurate manner using Excel and/or MS Dynamics.
- Experience with revenue recognition and intracompany accounting across multiple legal entities.
- Drive complex financial modeling development, enhancement, and maintenance
- Self-motivated and possess a strong ability to handle multiple projects, manage time effectively, proactively communicate, and provide periodic status reports and updates to management.
- Manage and refine month-end accounting close process
- Partner closely with the CFO to understand detailed drivers of spending, drive improvement and efficiency and perform ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decisions
- Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work with a highly productive team.
- Actual compensation will range from $110,000-125,000 and will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
- Corporate experience is essential.
- Experienced in month-end closing processes.
- Proficient in reconciliations with balance sheets.
- Skilled in variance analysis.
- Experienced in booking journal entries.
- Knowledgeable in revenue recognition.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years' experience in accounting or financial planning for a small-medium sized company is required.
- Polished and professional verbal and written business communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Dynamics, or another enterprise-level program is required.
- Commercial real estate experience is not required.
