NewtekOne is looking to add a Financial Reporting Analyst to its team!
The Financial Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in the company's SEC Reporting and technical Accounting Functions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Assist with the financial reporting process - both external and internal.
- Assist with authoring SEC filings including 10-Q and 10-K, including preparing MD&A analysis and drafting footnote language.
- Complete a tie-out of all numbers including reviewing supporting schedules and partnering with business leaders for further review.
- Ensure all reporting is free from any footing/cross-footing or typographical errors.
- Prepare elimination entries for inter-company transactions to accurately present consolidated financial statements.
- Assist with standalone audits of subsidiaries.
- Manage audit requests to ensure deliverables are provided and questions are resolved timely.
- Operate in compliance with SOX guidelines and provide support for controls testing to internal/external auditors.
- Compare actual results to budgets and perform variance analysis.
- Suggest process improvements in order to create efficiencies and reduce timeframes for deliverables in the financial close and reporting processes.
- Assist in cross-training for key processes to help ensure consistency.
- Partner with other teams / departments on special projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 1-3 years of Public Accounting and/or Private Industry experience, preferably with a public company
- Solid analytical and research skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized and able to juggle competing priorities
Education & Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 annually
