Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Financial Program Specialist (FPS) perform financial estimates and generate reports and forecasts using budgets, cost, or other financial information.
- The Financial Program Specialist (FPS) shall provide support in the processing of incoming and outgoing funding documentation (e.g. reviewing information for accuracy; projecting burn rates; processing and coordinating cost transfers; perform variance analysis; and performing reviews). The Financial Program Specialist shall conduct follow-up actions for funding documentation and ensure fund document packages are complete and closed properly.
- The FPS shall perform analysis of accounts to confirm balances; perform monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliation; support the monthly and annual closing process; conduct ad hoc financial and accounting analysis; and compile data from financial systems and source documents.
- The FPS shall participate in supporting requests for information to support financial audits; provide documents and supporting documentation from the accounting system to satisfy requests; and serves as a point of

- The FPS shall download and reconfigure data from financial systems; develop and maintain accounting data; and analyze financial This data is then utilized to the support the following functions: funds distribution, reimbursable funds tracking, plan vs. actual variance reporting, annual budget submission, developing cost projections, and the daily business operations. The FPS shall provide training and/or on current or help desk support on current or future financial systems.
- The FPS shall provide written reports, financial analysis, and other reports that directly supports the above activities. Reports will be delivered directly to resource Management for final review and approval.
- The Financial Program Specialist shall support the overall integration of the expenditure process including communication of key events / milestones, issuing data calls, perform milestone reviews, developing trace documents identifying changes to budgets, supporting the phasing plan development activities and supporting overall reporting solution at the Center.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- This position requires: strong task management, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, and providing a high level of customer services with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- This position requires proficiency in Microsoft products.
Minimum/General Experience:
- Three years of experience in:
- Applying financial management regulations, policies, principles, and practices in order to analyze data, identify trends for management decision-making and provide advice on financial management issues.
- Developing financial estimates,
- Applying qualitative and quantitative methods or techniques to assess and improve program
- Interpreting policies and procedures and providing guidance to others
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and three years of experience in finance and/or resource
- Allowable substitution: High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and nine years in finance and/or resource planning.
