In this job, you’ll be in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization within SCE’s Corporate Finance team. Our FP&A team influences and leads change in a dynamic industry providing analytical, planning, and operational support to meet our business needs of SCE and Edison International (EIX). As part of the FP&A team, you will manage a team that collaborates across Finance to analyze the financial plans, strategic decisions, and regulatory outcomes. The Senior Manager will lead various financial planning activities, including our short and/or long-term consolidated budgeting and forecasting activities; as well as financial statement, earnings, liquidity, capital structure, cost of capital, and various other ad hoc financial analyses.. Responsibilities
+ Manages construction and analysis of cash flow and financial statements and prepares reports on findings and recommendations
+ Drives the group financial planning and reporting strategies through development and ownership of specific elements of the annual financial plan and ensures delivery of corporate financial planning and analysis activities
+ Leads or participates in ad-hoc projects that may include, but are not limited to, development of rating agency forecasts and presentations, supporting the Company's internal/external audits, financings, industry research, conducting ad-hoc financial analysis for capital projects and developing financial models
+ Drives continuous improvement programs to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial planning and analysis processes
+ Advocates for financial data as best practice across the organization aligned to internal data policy and external regulations
+ Pepares presentations in support of board and shareholder meetings, rating agency meetings, monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings and/or various strategic committees of the Company
+ Leads preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts in coordination with operational managers/department directors; manages the Company's annual budgeting and long term forecasting cycle
+ Ensures all processes are documented and appropriate controls are in place and identifies ways to develop standards and procedures in order to remain compliant
+ Supports General Rate Case (GRC) preparation including writing testimony and supporting Operating Unit in financial forecast preparation; support the preparation and development of other CPUC/FERC regulatory filings as needed
+ Coaches and develops analyst and advisor team to increase understanding of financial concepts and utility ratemaking, operations and organizational practices; communicates expectations and holds staff accountable for delivery of goals
+ A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
+ Experience with finance, budgeting, financial forecasting, financial modeling/reporting, or accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or an MBA in Finance or strategy or master’s degree in related field or completion of AFP FP&A Certification or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I, II or III.
+ Advance Excel skills including complex financial analysis and modeling.
+ Experience communicating complex analysis and financial information clearly and effectively to senior management.
+ Experience with regulated utility finance and accounting methodologies, including developing revenue requirement projections.
+ Performing full-cycle ad-hoc financial analysis, including identifying client needs, gathering relevant information from appropriate partners, and presenting information to management.
+ Building financial models as well as ensuring the completeness and integrity of findings and recommendations.
+ Experience with VBA, SQL, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, or Planning and Budgeting software (e.g., Utilities International, Hyperion, etc.).
Additional Information
+ This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
