This position is responsible for outstanding customer service in working with patients and/or responsible individuals to arrange methods of payment which include, but are not limited to obtaining payment, answering telephone or correspondence inquiries from patients relating to areas of coverage and payment of claims. Responsible for providing assistance to the Patient Financial Services Department (PFS) with regard to incoming calls, inquiries, correspondence, patient collections, collection agency assignment, financial assistance applications, Medicaid financial assistance applications and other clerical duties. Demonstrates extraordinary commitment to excellence by adhering to the CMH Promise of Excellence.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of /Skill/Ability to: Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. General office skills including phones and keyboarding; computer skills, including data entry and 10-key; communication skills; ability to assess emergency situations and work well under pressure.
License/Certification: n/a
Education and/or Experience: Previous experience in medical office setting such as hospital admissions, billing, or medical office preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
