Job Purpose:
The Financial Cost Analyst plays a key role in driving financial performance and operational efficiency by providing comprehensive cost analysis and financial insights. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining cost standards, analyzing job profitability, and supporting decision-making through effective financial forecasting and budgeting. The Financial Cost Analyst will partner closely with business leaders to deliver actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing profitability and optimizing business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly performance analysis to assess profitability and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and regularly update cost standards through activity-based cost analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
- Analyze regional financial and operational data to provide actionable insights for management.
- Collaborate with regional teams as a strategic business partner, offering financial guidance and support.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the NAM Controller and Director of Operational Excellence.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and Activity-Based Costing (ABC).
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration and teamwork across departments.
- Advanced analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to analyze both tactical and strategic financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Professional demeanor with sound decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar financial role.
- CPA, CMA, or experience in public accounting is a plus.
- Industry experience in labs or oil and gas services is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with MRP or ERP systems is advantageous.
