Position Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience within the construction sector and possess a strategic mindset to help guide our financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Manage all general accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, job cost analysis, and reconciliations.
- Develop and monitor budgets, cash flow, and forecasts for multiple projects.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
- Implement and improve internal controls and financial systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to track job costs, billings, and profitability.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage external audits and tax preparation with third-party professionals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of financial leadership experience within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and construction project accounting.
- Proficiency in construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Procore, QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
