A manufacturing company in California is currently seeking an experienced Finance professional to join their staff as their new Financial Controller. In this role, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing financial processes, and providing strategic insights to drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller will:
- Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and treasury transactions to optimize financial performance
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory standards, and tax requirements
- Work closely with Project Managers and Construction teams to monitor project financials and control costs
- Review and analyze subcontractor agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial terms
- Develop cost allocation methodologies and cost-tracking systems to enhance project profitability
- Provide financial guidance on real estate development projects, including land acquisition, financing, and sales
- Analyze market trends and assess the financial feasibility of potential real estate investments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop pricing strategies and optimize property portfolio performance
- Serve as a primary point of contact for owners regarding their personal financial needs
- Assist owners with tax compliance, financial planning, and wealth management strategies
- Monitor the company's balance sheet to maintain financial stability and liquidity
- Conduct regular reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Background in Construction, Subcontracting, Homebuilding, and/or Real Estate
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, Tax regulations, and Financial Reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Financial Modeling, Forecasting, and Budgeting techniques.
- Solid analytical skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
