Responsibilities:
As a Financial Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all company accounting practices, including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Directing financial strategy, planning and forecasts, conferring with the CEO and the construction team.
3. Supervising the investment and raising of funds to meet the company's ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
4. Monitoring and controlling cash management activities including projecting cash flow to ensure the company's financial obligations are met.
5. Implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that ensure company assets are adequately safeguarded.
6. Evaluating and managing risk, conducting financial analysis and preparing detailed reports and projections.
7. Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
8. Assisting in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA or equivalent is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of construction accounting and financial management.
3. Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or a similar role.
4. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
5. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
7. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
8. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
10. CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus.
