Are you a seasoned financial professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for the construction industry? Our firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals on exciting construction projects. You will play a pivotal role in our financial management, ensuring that our projects are financially viable and that our company remains profitable.
Responsibilities:
As our Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that are integral to our financial operations. These include:
1. Overseeing all financial aspects of our construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
2. Managing all aspects of our accounts payable and receivable, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
3. Ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
4. Preparing and reviewing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
5. Managing the construction work in progress (WIP) accounts, ensuring that costs are accurately allocated and reported.
6. Preparing and filing all required tax returns, including income tax and property tax returns.
7. Utilizing QuickBooks to manage our financial records and transactions.
8. Working closely with our project managers and other team members to ensure that our financial operations align with our project goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or a professional certification such as a CPA is highly desirable.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.
3. Proficiency in GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
4. Strong experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as in preparing and reviewing financial reports.
5. Experience in managing construction WIP accounts and in preparing and filing tax returns.
6. Proficiency in QuickBooks or a similar financial management software.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
