Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Financial Assistant for a reputable client located in new Haven, Connecticut. This temporary position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team, assisting with various financial processes and administrative tasks. The Financial Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial transactions and maintaining financial records.
Responsibilities
- Approve financial transactions, process payrolls, and deposits of funds, ensuring expenses and revenue are posted to proper accounts.
- Serve as the principal source of information on financial policies, procedures, and financial activity.
- Instruct departmental personnel in financial aspects of their jobs.
- Reconcile and analyze financial statements, identifying, researching, and correcting questionable financial activity.
- Serve as process support for human resources in the areas of seasonal employees, training and compliance, and employee review.
- Prepare standardized and specialized financial reports and analyses.
- Assist with the development and implementation of systems and procedures.
- Perform clerical functions incidental to accounting activities.
- Serve as a Notary Public and petty cash cashier.
- Oversee the maintenance of financial records and files.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including the ability to work overtime and occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
- Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school-level education; or
- Four years of related work experience and an Associate Degree; or
- Little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Work Hours
The position requires availability Monday through Friday during the first shift.
Benefits
Competitive compensation with a pay range of $31.05 per hour.
