Overview:The Financial Analyst – Capital Planning is an integral part of the Finance Team. This role is responsible for analyzing the institution’s financial performance to assist management in meeting strategic performance goals. They will be responsible for streamlining and executing the departments’ monthly reporting. They will participate in high visibility, strategic organizational projects. These projects may include the implementation and documentation of forecast models of Patelco’s financial performance to support the development of new capital planning and stress testing capabilities. The candidate will also assist in mitigating regulatory or self-identified findings.
Responsibilities:- Monitor financial performance relative to industry peers and perform ad hoc analysis to understand drivers of performance
- Analyze internal and external drivers of credit union performance; make recommendations for processes based on in-depth understanding of credit union goals
- Assess financial condition of external organizations to ensure proper risk management of engagements
- Implement predictive models to support new capital planning and stress testing capabilities
- Use macro-economic forecasts to perform sensitivity analysis of portfolio drivers
- Document model development and control procedures
- Support senior team members on the management of any regulatory feedback including action items and following up with owners on remediation plans, ensuring timely delivery of commitments
- Liaise with internal Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Risk Management and Data teams to ensure efforts are in alignment
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Evaluates operating processes and procedures and makes recommendations for changes and/or improvements
- Other duties as assigned
- Superior Excel skills working with large volumes of data, validating data, using vlookups and pivot tables, performing regressions, and formatting data in a clear, presentable way
- Excellent writing skills to write a capital plan, document capital planning test models, and respond to regulatory agencies
- Collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to solve problems, balance priorities, and take ownership of products
- Strong business acumen and modelling skills
- Effective planning and organizing skill to deliver workload in timely manner

- Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field in Statistics, Economics, Math, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or Financial Engineering; or five years of experience in finance, quantitative, or data analytics role
- Awareness of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc)
- 7 years of experience in financial services or in a finance function

- This position may be eligible for hybrid work arrangements
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
$88,488 - $110,607/year
